VV: ULTIMATUM Hollow Clan Tier List: Best Clans for Every Build
I’ve been there. The Clan system can be confusing when you’re starting out in VV: ULTIMATUM, and re-rolling blindly wastes resources you could use elsewhere.
After testing every Hollow Clan across different builds and PVP scenarios, I’ve put together this complete tier list and guide. I’ll explain which Clans dominate the meta, which ones have hidden drawbacks, and which ones you should re-roll immediately.
Hollow Clan Tier List: Quick Overview
Before I break down each Clan in detail, here’s a quick reference table of how every Hollow Clan ranks:
| Tier | Clan | Rarity | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| S-Tier | Cifer | Legendary | Kido Builds |
| S-Tier | Jaegerjaquez | Rare | Hakuda Builds |
| S-Tier | Kufang | Rare | Weapon Builds |
| A-Tier | Aaroniero | Legendary | Kido (with a catch) |
| B-Tier | Antenor | Rare | Lightning-specific Builds |
| B-Tier | Gingerbuck | Uncommon | Melee Defense |
| B-Tier | Murciellago | Common | Mobility/Shunpo |
| C-Tier | Lousienbairn | Uncommon | Beginners only |
| C-Tier | Calius | Common | Re-roll immediately |
Important Note for Beginners: Just because a Clan is Legendary doesn’t automatically make it the best. I see many players hold onto Aaroniero thinking “Legendary means top tier,” but Cifer outperforms it significantly for Kido builds. Always look at the actual bonuses, not just the rarity color.
S-Tier Hollow Clans: The Best in the Game
These Clans are the cream of the crop. If you roll any of these, lock them in. Here’s why each one earns its spot at the top.
1. Cifer (Legendary) — Best Kido Clan in the Game
Why It’s S-Tier: Cifer isn’t just the best Kido Clan for Hollows—it’s arguably one of the strongest Clans period. The standout feature here is the +20% longer Ressureccion duration. That extra time in your transformed mode is incredibly powerful in both PVP fights and PVE grinding sessions.
What makes Cifer truly special is that the extended mode benefits all builds, not just Kido. Even if you’re running a hybrid setup, that extra fifth of duration gives you more value than most other Clan bonuses combined.
Clan Bonuses:
- +20% Longer Ressureccion
- +2.0% Kido DMG
- +5.0 Reiatsu
- +2.5 Shunpo Stamina
My Take: If you’re serious about Kido or want a Clan that stays relevant regardless of meta shifts, Cifer is your best option. The mode extension alone makes it worth keeping, and the Kido damage boost is the cherry on top.
2. Jaegerjaquez (Rare) — Best Hakuda Clan for Hollows (and the Entire Game)
Why It’s S-Tier: Here’s something that might surprise you: Jaegerjaquez isn’t just the best Hakuda Clan for Hollows. It’s the best Hakuda Clan in the entire game. Neither Quincy nor Shinigami have a Clan that provides a stronger Hakuda damage boost.
This is a rare case where a Rare-rarity Clan outperforms Legendaries in its specific niche. If you’re running a melee-focused Hakuda build, there is simply no better option.
Clan Bonuses:
- +3.0% Hakuda DMG
- +3.0 Shunpo Stamina
My Take: Don’t let the “Rare” tag fool you. For Hakuda mains, this is the holy grail. The Shunpo stamina bonus is also a nice touch for closing gaps in PVP.
3. Kufang (Rare) — Best Weapon Build Clan for Hollows
Why It’s S-Tier: If you prefer Weapon-based damage over Kido or Hakuda, Kufang is your go-to Clan. It gives the highest Weapon DMG boost available to Hollows at +2.5%.
One thing to consider: If you mix Kido into your Weapon build (which many players do), Cifer might actually be the stronger choice. You’ll trade a bit of Weapon DMG for longer mode duration, which can result in higher overall damage output during fights.
Clan Bonuses:
- +2.5% Weapon DMG
- +0.5% Kido Defense
My Take: Kufang is excellent for pure Weapon builds. But if you find yourself using Kido abilities even occasionally, give Cifer a serious look before locking in Kufang permanently.
A-Tier Hollow Clans: Strong but Flawed
These Clans are good but come with drawbacks that keep them out of S-Tier.
Aaroniero (Legendary)
Why It’s A-Tier: Aaroniero looks great on paper with its Kido damage boost and Reiatsu increase. The problem? The -1.5% Melee Defense debuff.
Right now, the meta is dominated by melee builds. Most players you fight in PVP are running Hakuda, which means that melee defense penalty is going to hurt. You’ll take more damage from the most common attack type in the game.
For pure Kido builds, Cifer is simply much stronger—you get better bonuses and the incredible mode extension without the defensive trade-off.
Clan Bonuses:
- +2.2% Kido DMG
- +5.0 Reiatsu
- +1.5% Kido Defense
- -1.5% Melee Defense
Should you keep it? Only if you haven’t rolled Cifer yet and you’re committed to Kido. Even then, I’d recommend continuing to re-roll until you land Cifer.
B-Tier Hollow Clans: Situationally Useful
These Clans serve specific purposes but aren’t top-tier options. They can work as placeholders while you save up for re-rolls.
Antenor (Rare)
Why It’s B-Tier: The Lightning Damage boost is too niche to rank higher. Yes, it buffs Kido moves and Arrancar resurrections that deal lightning damage (like Electro), but being locked into specific abilities limits your flexibility.
The Posture Regen bonus is nice, but posture management alone won’t win you fights.
Clan Bonuses:
- +1.5% Lightning DMG
- +7.5% Posture Regen
My Verdict: Only worth keeping if you’re running a dedicated lightning build. Otherwise, aim for Kufang or Jaegerjaquez.
Gingerbuck (Uncommon)
Why It’s B-Tier: With melee builds being so common, the Melee Defense bonus provides a decent defensive cushion for beginners. It’s not flashy, but it can help you survive longer while you’re learning.
Clan Bonuses:
- +2.0% Melee Defense
- +5.0 Posture
My Verdict: A solid beginner Clan. Keep it until you roll something better, but don’t settle here permanently.
Murciellago (Common)
Why It’s B-Tier: Shunpo is a critical resource in PVP, and Murciellago gives you both more stamina and faster speed. It’s a pure mobility Clan that can help with hit-and-run tactics.
Clan Bonuses:
- +5.0 Shunpo Stamina
- +10.0 Shunpo Speed
My Verdict: Decent for PVP-focused players who value positioning. Outclassed by any S-Tier Clan for damage, but mobility mains might enjoy this one.
C-Tier Hollow Clans: Re-roll These
These Clans offer minimal value. Don’t waste time with them—re-roll as soon as you can.
Lousienbairn (Uncommon)
This is strictly a beginner Clan. The Health and Posture bonuses are small enough that you won’t notice them in actual combat.
Clan Bonuses:
- +5.0 Health
- +3.5 Posture
Action: Re-roll when resources allow.
Calius (Common)
The Equipment Load bonus has virtually no impact on your combat performance. This is filler content—treat it as such.
Clan Bonuses:
- +5.0 Equipment Load
Action: Re-roll immediately. There’s no reason to keep this.
Which Clan Should You Pick Based on Your Build?
To make things simple, here’s exactly which Clan you should aim for based on your preferred playstyle:
| Your Build | Best Clan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Kido-Focused | Cifer | Highest Kido DMG boost + 20% longer mode |
| Hakuda/Melee | Jaegerjaquez | Best Hakuda Clan in the entire game |
| Pure Weapon | Kufang | Best Weapon DMG boost for Hollows |
| Hybrid (Weapon + Kido) | Cifer | Mode extension benefits mixed builds more than pure Weapon DMG |
| Lightning Specialist | Antenor | Only if you’re fully committed to lightning abilities |
| Beginner (Any Build) | Gingerbuck | Extra melee defense helps while you learn |
The most important takeaway: always match your Clan to your build, not your rarity. A Rare Clan that boosts your primary damage type will outperform a Legendary that doesn’t.
